These videos, images, and comments are a selection of the great entries that

In
2008 connect2earth let community members have their say on the
environment around them by uploading video, images, and comments around
various themes related to sustainability.

Sustainability?

This
is the ability to meet our needs without compromising the ability of
future generations to meet theirs. Today, however, the human race is
plundering the planet at a pace that outstrips its capacity to support
life.

Change that improves living standards while reducing our
impact on the natural world will not be easy. The cities, power plants
and homes we build today will either lock society into damaging
over-consumption beyond our lifetimes, or begin to propel this and
future generations towards sustainable living.

It's not too late
to reverse the trend, but it will require governments, industry and
individuals to make significant changes in their consumption patterns.
Only then can we begin to restore the balance between our consumption
of natural resources and the Earth's ability to renew them.
