A Global Warning for Warming in Global Warming

After reading this piece of work you may conclude that it is totally fictitious. However at the growing rate of Global Warming, fictional work such as this will not be too far from reality. The recent changes in climatic conditions have become a major threat to the environment and to life on Earth. Delhi too has fallen prey in the hands of the dreadful contributions made to Global Warming by the people themselves. It has witnessed extreme weather conditions. Where in the summers the mercury tips a little below 50 degrees, in winters it dips down to freezing -0 degree temperatures and the situation is deteriorating by the day... ..It was yet another toxic-filled, cold day in Delhi, with the water as filthy as the sewer lines and the air as foul as the odor and taste of bad meat. Delhi woke up, garbage spilled out in the open in corners and plastic spread across the roads, as if wanting to say proudly, "the road is my home". The trees were sulking as if they had had nightmares of being in the desert all night. Each one telling a dreadful story, all dried up and dusty, suffocated to the core. Schools were shut as a result of a cold wave and children fantasized of how exciting it would be if it snowed in Delhi. The others took it as a part of their routine, like any other day in winters. It started with a hail storm that lasted 2 and half days, soon after which followed snow! It was now that Delhi was taken aback with shock and people stopped coming out of their homes. Some still didn't understand the intensity of the problem and came out dancing and enjoying the first ever, in the history of mankind, snow in Delhi. Summits, meetings, conferences, discussions and conventions, everybody talked about the snow in Delhi and confidently attributed it to the ignorant attitude of people toward Global Warming. The blame game was being played and not to a single soul did it strike that time was running out. Nobody thought of what should be done next, rather they discussed how things would have been different if something had been done earlier. Who could stop weather? Delhi was soon covered under snow, life stopped and for some of the unfortunate, literally.     It was as if nearly most of Delhi was put to sleep. The shock came in different ways and many succumbed to it. There was no sign of the sun coming out, Delhi was dark and scary. The death defying catastrophe had taken its toll and did not want to spare a single soul. Global Warming hit Delhi hard on its face, leaving so many questions, only now, answered. An Afterthought Come to think of it, terrorism can kill only so much, but the amount of damage and destruction Warming can cause is immeasurable. To this thought a very ironic question arises, 'Can the terrorists escape Global Warming?' Both the issues are of equal significance but the only difference is that where in terrorism, individual effort will not be as effective as collective effort, in Global warming effective change starts from the individual.   A global warning for warming has come its way. Time for you to act, and certainly, it is now or never! Your actions can make differences! Consider alternative means of transportation, such as the bus, bike or just walking Turn off lights, TV and other electronic devices when not in use Avoid leaving your computers on the stand-by mode Clean or replace filters on your heater and air conditioner Be sure you recycle at home Choose products that come with little packaging and buy refills when you can Reuse your shopping bag There is a lot you can do to save the Earth.
