A Sustainable Brighter Tomorrow in Sustainable - A life's ethics

Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 05:33AM by Laura Dias

One of the biggest causes for today's massive climate change, and pollution increase is our paper and plastic! Paper-less billing and mail is the best way to go! It's 100% green, ECO-Friendly, and it is so much easier and faster! If you are one of those people that receive those useless magazines and offers from other companies by mail, you can call 1-888-567-8688 to stop all incoming mail from those companies that are causing our worlds damage! Now, plastic is another big issue. What's up with all these bags they give you at these supermarkets? Everyone should have they're own grocery non-plastic bag and carry with them while shopping. If we don't use plastic bags, companies will run out of business of making them, and less pollution will be in our air! and if nobody wants paper bills, statements, or magazine offers, millions of trees will be saved annually. This is a problem we can try to fix, before it's too late.

Hybrid Manditory for all vehichles & Transportations! in Sustainable - A life's ethics

Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 06:58PM by Laura Dias

There is so many new laws now-a-days, but none of them really have anything towards our earths health. There should be a law that prohibits any non-hybrid vehicles in the street, and any violators will by subjected to prosecution. Now a while ago I've heard New York City was making Hybrid buses. That's convenient! Cars, Buses, Trains and airplanes cause so much pollution, Millions are running everyday constantly polluting our air. If everyone had a hybrid or chargeable vehicle, or even rode a bicycle, we would see some huge changes in our air. I support clean air and do not own a vehicle. Everything got so over-rated. Since when did anybody die from not having a car? I remember a long time ago people rode horses, bikes, and carriages. Now we need these "polluting machines" that get us from A to B. It is convenient for our lifestyle and makes it easier to get around. But isn't it more important what it is doing to Mother Earth? All non-hybrid transportation vehicles should be illegal. Now that's a sustainable sacrifise for mother nature.

Steps for a Healthier, Sustainable living in Sustainable - A life's ethics

Posted on Mar 12 2010 at 07:36PM by Laura Dias

  • Can we walk to more places and drive less? We’d get fitter and use
less fossil fuel. We’d have to loosen up our schedules to do this, but I
think that’s a good change anyway!
  • Can we start building more livable communities, where things are
less spread out, so that we can walk more instead of driving everywhere?
Where everything we need is a 10-20 minute walk away, or at least
reachable by bike or public transportation? You might already live in a
    place like that, Even
work should be close by. This is a long-term change, but I think a
    good one.
  • Can we start buying locally more? I know a lot of people already do
this, but it would be great if this trend continued. It supports local
farmers and drastically reduces the amount of resources needed to get
    food to our homes.
  • Can we start packaging food less? Even non-food items (like toys)
come with ridiculous amounts of packaging these days. I’d like to see a
return to olden ways, when you scooped flour out of a huge bin into a
container or something like that. Packaging we throw away (or even
    recycle) is so wasteful.
  • Can we stop buying so much processed food? Real food is so much
healthier, requires fewer chemicals and resources, and tastes better
once you wean yourself from the addiction to processed foods.
  • Can we eat slower, and enjoy the food more, instead of rushing
    through meals.
  • Can we stop our addiction to mobile devices and being connected all
the time, so that we can enjoy the pleasure of other people’s company
without interruptions, or enjoy solitude or a nice quiet walk without
    being connected?
  • Can we design cities and towns so that they aren’t based on the
automobile, so that perhaps private vehicles parked at the outside of
cities, and then people used public transportation or walked within the
cities? We’d reclaim the streets for the pedestrian, make them alive
once again with street markets, cafes, parks, children running around
without fear of death, people exercising, jogging, walking and enjoying a fume-free outdoors.

These are just a few ideas. There are thousands more. Read more on this topic »

How eating MEAT affects the environment ! in Sustainable - A life's ethics

Posted on Mar 12 2010 at 07:49PM by Laura Dias

Our desire to eat animal products has caused an environmental mess. More
than 10 billion cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and other farmed animals
are confined to factory farms every year in the United States alone.
The process of turning these animals into "beef," "pork," and "poultry"
is taking a terrible toll on the Earth.Meat Is the Number One Cause of Global Warming
According to the U.N.
report, raising animals for food generates more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, trucks,
trains, ships, and planes in the world combined. The livestock sector is
one of the largest sources of carbon dioxide and the single largest
source of both methane and nitrous oxide emissions. Nitrous oxide is
about 300 times more potent as a global warming gas than carbon dioxide.
According to the U.N., the meat, egg, and dairy industries account for a
staggering 65 percent of worldwide nitrous oxide emissions.

Environmental experts are encouraging people to eat a vegetarian diet or
at least cut back on the amount of meat and other animal products that
they consume.
***"If
every American skipped one meal of chicken per week and substituted vegetables and grains, the carbon dioxide savings would
be the same as taking more than half a million cars off of U.S. roads.
If every American had one meat-free meal per week, it would be the same
as taking more than 5 million cars off our roads. Having one meat-free
day per week would be the same as taking 8 million cars off American
roads." ***

A vegetarian diet saves the environment!

What really matters in Green Economy - Leading the change

Posted on Apr 21 2010 at 02:39PM by Laura Dias

For a greener tomorrow, what really matters, is the way our environment works and the food we eat.. and right now both are being poisoned. Pollution has to be reduced no matter what, and if people have to sacrifice there little car for a better earth then we should! The food we eat is soooo controlled U.S.D.A is a big joke! they add laboratory invented ingredients in every packaged food, try eating organic or natural food.. always read ingredients we cant continue supporting these chemicals, they must banish from earth! Slaughterhouses are a big global warming supporters too. Non meat eaters are a big change to earth! Sometimes people have to take sacrifices to save the earth & our brothers and sisters, just like Jesus did, we must do the same, we must sacrifice the things that support global warming, and that destroy mother earth!
So, NO MEAT, NO CARS, AND NO SUPPORTING ANYTHING THAT IS NOT NATURAL MADE FROM MOTHER EARTH!,, Uhmmm that doesn't sound hard right? Together we can make a Greener tomorrow!

Posted on Apr 22 2010 at 10:38PM by Laura Dias

Don't think we should give up no, on the earth that has been providing us and our family for millions of years! We can all make a difference, but it will be a GREAT SACRIFICE! We must stop supporting these big business industries.  #1 thing is food! If there's one thing we can't live without its' food and water... Lets stop supporting big business and shop at local organic farmers. Not only will we shut down massive green house gases but we will also make our selfs healthy by not eating that fake, processed, and chemically poisoned food! Think about it.... Food = Power.. Money is just there to brainwash these silly Americans

What matters at this point! in Tigers - The "king" threatened with extinction

Posted on Jun 19 2010 at 07:02PM by Laura Dias

Just 50 years ago, it is estimated that
nearly a half a
million lions could be found in Africa. Now lion experts
say that as few as 16,000 remain,a
staggering decline of more than 95%
.
I was speechless to hear about this tragedy! But since we got them into this mess, we can get them out. We need to let them live in peace alone and healthy without polluting they're environment or hunting they're family. They must re-produce in a healthy, natural lion's way of living, without mankind's destruction!
