We Nepalese have begun to face different problems in obtaining (Liquified Petroleum Gas)LPG cylinders from the markets, especially at times when there are strikes or the supply from India gets blocked. This keeps many families hungry. The worst part is the skyrocketing price of such LPG and any other commodities. Hence, i have bought one parabolic solar cooker for my house. We keep the cooking pot in the middle where all the reflectors focus the light at one point.
We can cook the food only when there is sunlight, but when there is, we have unlimited source of fuelfor us. The food for the evening is also cooked in the afternoon and is preserved by keeping in a Thermos Flask like thing , so that the heat gets preserved totally and thefood then preserved very well in the wooden handmade thermos flask. In this way we (I and my family) have reduced the conumption of the LPG and used solar energy to the maximum extent.
